Hip & Knee
If your hip hurts or your knee is bothering you, there could be more than a dozen reasons for the pain. Here at All-Star Orthopedics in Austin, Texas, our orthopedic surgeon has a knack for successfully treating hip and knee injuries and conditions. Here are some of the most common problems we see and treat:
- Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear
- Posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) tear
- Patellar tendon tear
- Osteoarthritis of the knee
- Hip arthritis
- Hip fracture
- Hip dislocation
- Inflammation of the hip lining (synovitis)
- Cartilage repair and transplantation (carticel-autologous chondrocyte implantation)
- Denovo grafts
- Ligament reconstruction (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL, posterolateral corner)
- Quadriceps tendon tear
We will sit down with you to understand exactly what is bothering you, when it started, and gather all the information needed to complete a thorough exam and make a diagnosis. All-Star Orthopedics does X-rays on site. If the X-ray comes back normal, we can order an MRI to check for soft tissue injuries – things that wouldn’t show up on an X-ray.
Depending on what we find, you may or may not need surgery. We perform arthroscopy and other minimally invasive procedures, as well as cartilage restoration using allograft transplantation or Carticel® autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI). Our surgeon also performs joint reconstruction for major joint damage or deterioration.
Our goal is to find the most conservative, least invasive solution for your problem. There are oral medications we can try as well as injections and physical therapy. If all else fails, a surgical procedure may be the optimal solution, followed by post-operative rehabilitation to get you up and moving again in no time.
